About the role
Court Based Social Worker - Queens Supervised Release Program
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to assist in screening and advocating for participants with behavioral health needs.
- Facilitate release into the Supervised Release Program by working with clients, attorneys, judges, and other court stakeholders.
- Support high-risk and high-recidivism clients through intensive case management.
- Utilize motivational interviewing and other evidence-based practices to engage and motivate individuals in needed process of change.
- Initiate necessary referrals for detox, substance abuse treatment, and mental health services.
- Communicate with defense attorneys and court partners regarding program expectations and referrals.
- Ensure timely flow of information to case management, administrative, and managerial staff.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work or mental health counseling; LMSW or LMHC within 6 months of start date.
- 3+ years of related experience working with court-involved populations.
- Knowledge of criminal justice system procedures.
- Familiarity with alternative to detention (ATD) or similar advocacy program models.
- Excellent communication, organizational, writing, and time management skills.
- Experience documenting client progress in a customized Case Management System.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice techniques including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and DBT.
Preferred Qualifications
- LCSW/LMSW/LMHC
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred

5PM-1AM, Sunday – Thursday (Friday and Saturday off)
Schedule
100% in-person position
Salary
$85,249 annually plus night differential if assigned to a shift that starts after 5 pm
