Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide peer-based support, engagement, and advocacy for individuals involved in court processes, including drug court and related programs.
  • Afford mentorship, encouragement, and recovery support using lived experience.
  • Support individuals in understanding court processes, expectations, and next steps.
  • Help individuals set and achieve goals focused on empowerment and self-determination.
  • Develop reintegration plans focused on stability and long-term success.
  • Connect individuals to behavioral health, substance use treatment, and recovery supports.
  • Advocate for participant needs within court and service systems.
  • Promote self-advocacy, empowerment, and personal responsibility.
  • Navigate housing systems and secure stable housing for individuals connected to housing programs.
  • Assist with obtaining necessary documentation and meeting housing requirements.
  • Identify employment and career goals for individuals and provide job readiness support.
  • Connect individuals to workforce programs, vocational training, and education.
  • Aid in transportation to appointments, employment, court, and essential services.
  • Coordinate with community resources to reduce transportation barriers.
  • Encourage participation in recovery and wellness-based supports.
  • Promote social connection and reduce isolation.
  • Collaborate with courts, probation, and community providers for coordinated care.
  • Partner with housing, workforce, and behavioral health agencies.
  • Maintain communication with internal teams and supervisors.
  • Document all peer interactions, outreach, and service connections.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with agency standards.
  • Track outcomes related to housing, employment, and recovery.

Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) certification or the ability to obtain within the required timeframe is preferred.
  • Lived experience with recovery and/or system involvement is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use, or human services is preferred.
  • Strong communication and engagement skills are required.
  • The ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries is essential.
  • A clean and valid driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout Warren and Washington Counties is required.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is required.
