Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location in New Hill, NC five days a week.
About the role
Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions.
Responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles not regulated by Section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and work in a safe manner
- Interact with customers, traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be licensed for the type of vehicle assigned
- Ability to lift 75 lbs; maneuver packages of any weight above 75 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills
- Neat appearance since customer contact is required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and communicate with traffic safety officials
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to lift 50 lbs; maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
