Courier/DOT

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages.
• Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.
• Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations.
• Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Must have good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Must have a neat appearance since customer contact is required.
• Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED.

Skills

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
