About the role
This position supports families by providing parent education services in both group and individual settings. The role focuses on helping families build skills, improve communication, and connect with needed community resources.
Responsibilities
- Parent Education: Provide guidance to parents through both center-based and in-home instruction
- Activity Support: Assist with planning and carrying out individual and group activities for families
- Group Coordination: Organize parents into groups that work together to support each other
- Treatment Participation: Engage with therapists in group sessions and actively take part in discussions
- Record Maintenance: Maintain detailed case records that track each client’s progress
- Client Resources: Refer parents to community services and help coordinate needed supports
Requirements
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Flexible Schedule: May require evening, weekend, or on-call work depending on agency requirements.
Travel may be required throughout different locations.
Qualifications
- One year as a County Social Services Aide 1
- Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information
- An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training
