County Caseworker 1 (Local Government) - Wayne County MH/ID

Location: Honesdale, PA. This is a reposting of CS-2026-56160-L0623 (originally open Aug 11‑24, 2026). The Blended Case Manager plans, coordinates, and manages services for assigned caseloads using recovery‑oriented and trauma‑informed practices. The position includes an excellent benefits package.

About the role

The position supports children, adolescents, and their families by guiding them through needed services and community supports as a County Caseworker 1, Blended Case Manager.

Responsibilities

• Intake Support – gather information during initial intake to enroll individuals in the Behavioral Health Blended Case Management Program.
• Service Coordination – work with families, providers, and the ID Supports Coordinator to link individuals with needed community services.
• Needs Assessment – use the Environmental Matrix to assess level of service needs on an ongoing basis.
• Recovery Guidance – promote resiliency and recovery by following Behavioral Health principles that support everyday living.
• Specialized Assistance – apply specialized training to support individuals with mental illness and co‑occurring intellectual disabilities or autism spectrum disorders.
• Progress Monitoring – maintain close contact with families and providers to evaluate services and track progress toward treatment goals.

Schedule

• Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week.
• Work hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 1‑hour lunch break.
• May require overnight travel or out‑of‑County travel for meetings or training.
• Irregular hours possible, including evenings and weekends.
• On‑call rotating basis 24/7 after training.
• No telework option.

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience and Training:
  • Two years as a County Social Services Aide 3 plus two years of college coursework (12 credits) in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 12 credits in the above fields; OR
  • Equivalent combination of 12 credits in the above fields and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or similar paraprofessional case‑management role.
  Applicants within two months of graduating with the required degree/credits will be considered to have met the educational requirement.
• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Legal requirements: successful background investigation, drug screening, and submission of satisfactory criminal history reports (PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse clearance, FBI fingerprint clearance) as required by the Child Protective Services Law.
