About the role
Sawyer County is seeking an experienced, visionary leader to serve as its next County Administrator. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a full-service county government committed to excellent services, responsible leadership, and a strong future for our communities. The County Administrator works in partnership with the County Board, department heads, employees, municipalities, and community partners to protect and enhance the quality of life for all who live, work, and visit Sawyer County.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership and collaborative decision-making to advance the County’s mission.
- Ensure sound fiscal management, transparency, and long-term stability.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives that promote innovation and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with municipalities, businesses, and community partners.
- Foster a positive work culture and support employee growth, engagement, and professionalism.
- Implement effective policies and ensure high-quality services that meet community needs.
Requirements
Well-qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in public/business administration, finance, or a related field, at least six years of progressively responsible administrative/leadership experience in county or municipal government, or a combination of training, experience, and administrative ability that demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform the duties of the position successfully.
