Counter Sales Representative I

About the role

As a Counter Sales Associate at Summit Electric Supply, you will assist customers over the phone or in person, working closely with the Service Center sales staff and warehouse associates to ensure a high level of customer service. This role is critical to maintaining exceptional service for both external and internal customers. You will partner with customer service representatives and warehouse associates to uphold excellence across Summit’s operations.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed customer expectations when fulfilling orders and assisting with products, both over the phone and in person.
• Refill inventory to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and product availability.
• Assist customer service representatives and warehouse associates during peak demand.
• Understand product capabilities, warranties, usages, and challenges to educate and serve customers effectively.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and well-stocked counter area and other store sections.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, depending on location needs.
• Handle warehouse tasks, including operating warehouse equipment such as wire cutters.

• High school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
• Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment.
• Ability to climb stairs and stand for long periods.

Skills

• Experience in the electrical distribution industry (beneficial).
• Previous experience in the Summit Warehouse (preferred).
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
