Counter Sales Representative

About the role

The Counter Sales Representative is a key resource for customers, delivering prompt service and in-depth product knowledge. You will assist customers with purchases, process orders efficiently, and collaborate with the branch team on receiving, shipping, and stocking tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with purchases, returns, and order processing
• Drive electrical distribution sales for the counter business and develop new and existing customer relationships
• Assist with daily restocking, showroom maintenance, and keeping the counter and showroom clean and organized
• Support warehouse functions, including receiving, shipping, stocking, and deliveries
• Stay informed and educated on product knowledge
• Assist inside sales as needed
• Inform management of any safety hazards or customer satisfaction concerns
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2+ years of customer service, sales, or electrical distribution experience preferred
• Previous branch experience preferred
• High School diploma or GED (required)
• Electrical product knowledge and experience, including lighting, switchgear, controls, and electrical commodities preferred
• Familiarity with automated order entry systems and PCs running Windows-based software preferred
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to type on a computer keyboard
• Positive attitude and desire to improve electrical product knowledge

Pay

$19.97 to $24.96 per hour, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
