Counter Sales Representative

About the role

This position involves assisting customers on the sales floor, handling inquiries, resolving order problems, and promoting products to meet customer needs. You’ll also perform warehouse duties, including shipping, receiving, and preparing merchandise for delivery.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Handle customer difficulties diplomatically and resolve order problems promptly.
• Display merchandise, recommend products, and explain features to meet customer needs.
• Develop and maintain technical knowledge of products to assist customers and coworkers.
• Identify and use appropriate pricing systems, provide quotes, and prepare sales tickets.
• Process payments, requisition merchandise, and prepare items for delivery or pickup.
• Load customer materials for “will call” orders and assist with shipping/receiving as needed.
• Prepare correspondence and reports for business transactions.
• Promote branch and companywide promotions and specials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and Outlook.
• Occasional lifting and pulling of objects up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift certification (training provided).

Schedule

This role is based in Fullerton, CA, with work hours of either 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Pay

This non-exempt position pays between $23.00 – $28.00 per hour, based on the primary location in California.
