Counter Sales Representative

Capital Electric, a distributor of electrical construction materials operating in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, is seeking a Counter Sales associate at its Winchester, VA location. The role involves selling products to customers, assisting with product selection, and developing relationships to keep Capital Electric the distributor of choice.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming customer phone calls
• Greet walk‑in customers
• Assist customers with orders and provide appropriate product selection
• Pick customer orders from the warehouse and bring them to the counter
• Prepare customer sales tickets and process charges
• Promote and sell company product promotions
• Provide assistance to certain warehouse functions
• Reach monthly goals in sales and gross margin
• Maintain courtesy and politeness toward customers
• Multi‑task and continually prioritize tasks throughout the day
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Sales experience and/or electrical knowledge preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
• Strong mathematics, verbal, and written communication skills
• Computer and Microsoft Office literacy
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb regularly and up to 70 lb occasionally
• Reliable, responsible, and a strong work ethic

Pay

$18 – $25 per hour with commission potential.
