About the role

United Central Industrial Supply, a SunSource company, has been providing industrial operators throughout North America with components and services since 1974. This role supports the distribution function by accurately and efficiently receiving warehouse stock, shipping merchandise, and serving as a company representative to promote a positive reputation.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks, receive and store merchandise, pick and pack customer orders, and handle stock transfers.
• Perform inventory cycle counts and participate in scheduled physical inventory.
• Report shortages, overages, damaged merchandise, or unresolved customer complaints to the supervisor.
• Verify accurate counts of incoming or outgoing materials and merchandise.
• Maintain accurate open and closed purchase order receipt files.
• Report major discrepancies between book quantities and actual on-hand inventory.
• Notify supervisor of stock runs, stock outages, vendor over-shipments, or duplications.
• Ensure data integrity during the receipt of goods process.
• Assist in safeguarding inventory against pilferage or theft.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance and remain courteous and service-minded with customers.
• Uphold good housekeeping standards and report dangerous situations, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards.
• Pack orders, write labels, weigh cartons, and prepare parcel post and UPS shipment forms as needed.
• Perform counter sales, inventory control, and delivery of merchandise.
• Assist in annual inventory and initiate receiving or shipping reports as required.
• Complete any additional duties assigned by the supervisor to fulfill company objectives.

Schedule

Normal work hours are 7 AM – 4 PM, Monday through Friday, with weekends as required. Overtime is expected when beneficial to the company or scheduled by the supervisor. Scheduling is determined by management based on company needs.
