About the role

The Counter Salesperson is the first point of contact for customers in PARR retail locations. This role involves providing sales assistance, managing inventory, and interacting with various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Aid the Inventory Control Specialist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels
  • Assist outside crews with vehicle loading and delivery preparation as needed
  • Handle incoming phone calls and emails, directing to appropriate team members when necessary
  • Clock in on time and be ready to work
  • Adhere to all company policies
  • Support other team members with their tasks as needed
  • Communicate with the Receiver regarding cancelled orders or returned materials
  • Ensure the store is clean and displays merchandise and literature according to PARR standards
  • Actively build and maintain a positive environment for both employees and customers

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to operate POS systems, computers, smartphones, and scanners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Class C driver’s license or equivalent preferred
  • English language proficiency
  • Knowledge of retail sales principles and practices
  • Ability to type 30+ WPM
  • Ability to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
  • OSHA Certified Forklift License preferred

  • Identify and improve processes to enhance the workplace and customer outcomes

Physical Requirements

  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Work indoors in a normal office environment
  • Grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
  • Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Local and overnight travel may be required
