Counter Sales

About the Role

Lubrication Equipment & Supply, a SunSource company, is the premier provider of lubrication products, accessories, and systems to heavy industry in the Southwest United States. This role involves warehouse operations, counter sales, and repair tasks to support the company’s distribution function while representing the company in a positive manner.

Responsibilities

• Accurately receive warehouse stock and ship merchandise, including loading/unloading trucks, picking/packing orders, and managing stock transfers.
• Perform inventory cycle counts and participate in scheduled physical inventory.
• Report shortages, overages, damaged merchandise, or unresolved customer complaints to supervisors.
• Verify counts of incoming/outgoing materials and maintain accurate purchase order receipt files.
• Report discrepancies in book quantities vs. actual on-hand inventory, stock outages, or vendor over-shipments.
• Ensure accurate data entry during the receipt of goods process.
• Assist in safeguarding inventory against pilferage or theft.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance and courteous, service-minded interactions with customers.
• Uphold good housekeeping standards and report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
• Perform counter sales, inventory control, and occasional delivery of merchandise.
• Assist with annual inventory and initiate receiving/shipping reports as required.
• Operate forklifts, delivery vehicles, and related equipment (e.g., dollies, binders, chains).
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors to meet company objectives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete the company training program.
• Good communication skills (written and oral).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in reading/writing delivery tickets, packing lists, invoices, MSDS literature, and other job-related documents.

Work Environment

Physical Demands

• Lift objects of varying weight and carry them up to twenty yards.
• Stand and sit for extended periods.
• Climb trucks, ladders, and shelving.

Working Conditions

• Work in varying temperatures due to seasonal changes.
• Operate in a warehouse environment with merchandise in various stages of resale.
• Work at mining/industrial locations with harsh conditions and uneven terrain.
• Drive vehicles on narrow, curvy, or rough roads at remote sites.

Safety Requirements

• Follow safety policies, precautions, and regulations to prevent life-threatening risks to self and coworkers.
• Report accidents per company policies.
• Wear required safety apparel and equipment.

Potential Hazards

• Fast-paced warehouse environment with heavy/large merchandise.
• Constant need for alertness to changes in the surrounding environment.

Schedule

Normal work hours are 7 AM – 4 PM, Monday through Friday, with weekends as required. Overtime is expected when beneficial to the company or scheduled by a supervisor.

Accountabilities

• Safeguard company assets, including vehicles, equipment, merchandise, cash, checks, and documents.
• Maintain confidentiality of sales, pricing policies, customer lists, and other sensitive information.
