Johnstone Supply, a leading wholesale distributor of HVACR equipment, parts, and supplies, is seeking a Counter Sales Associate I to join our dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in building strong partnerships with customers and increasing sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills customer HVAC/R product needs by providing information, technical support, and special ordering.
• Maintains a team working environment and store profitability.
• Provides prompt, friendly, and professional service to customers in-person and over the phone.
• Greets customers, greets regular customers by name, handles multiple customers and requests simultaneously, and maintains a friendly and professional manner.
• Develops good working relationships and rapport with customers.
• Aids in product selection by asking questions and actively listening to identify customer needs.
• Solves common technical problems and recommends and orders products.
• Researches and sources products for customers using various tools and coordinates transportation of product.
• Identifies and recommends alternative products to meet customer needs.
• Processes customer transactions, including balancing cash drawers, creating credit invoices, and processing pick/pack orders.
• Communicates with customers about order status and follows up on requests.
• Maintains the showroom through stocking shelves, housekeeping, and creating displays.
• Maintains general knowledge of HVAC/R fundamentals and product lines.
• Communicates sales lead information to outside sales staff and management.
• Communicates unexpected changes in product demand and inventory to management.
• Supports the team by treating fellow employees and customers professionally and addressing customer issues.
• Reports to work on time and manages multiple projects under pressure.
• Ensures the store’s financial performance by adhering to the pricing structure and achieving sales targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 1+ years of related experience in a wholesale/retail environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in front-line customer service.
• Preferred: 1+ years of experience in HVAC/R or related industry; forklift experience.
