About the role
Johnstone Supply, North America's leading wholesale distributor of HVACR equipment, parts, and supplies, is seeking a Counter Sales Associate I to join our dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in building strong partnerships with customers and increasing sales and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Fulfills customer HVAC/R product needs by providing information, technical support, and special ordering.
- Maintains a team working environment and store profitability.
- Provides prompt, friendly, and professional service to Johnstone customers in-person and over the phone.
- Greets customers, greets regular customers by name, handles multiple customers and requests, and maintains a friendly and professional manner.
- Develops good working relationships and rapport with customers.
- Aids in product selection, troubleshooting, and resolving technical problems.
- Recommends and orders products, identifies alternative products, and sources products.
- Follows up on customer requests and resolves disputes.
- Processes customer transactions, completes paperwork, and maintains records.
- Maintains a clean and organized store, conducts inventory counts, and ensures profitability.
- Maintains general knowledge of HVAC/R products and communicates sales leads.
- Communicates with coworkers and management to report on customer issues and maintain a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; 1+ years of related experience in a wholesale/retail environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in front-line customer service.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience in HVAC/R or related industry; forklift experience preferred.
