About the role

The Rose Gaming Resort is a $480 million gaming and entertainment complex destination located alongside I-95 in Dumfries, Virginia. The resort features a luxury hotel, eight bars and restaurants, meeting and event spaces, a 50,000+ square foot gaming space with over 1,650 Historical Horse Racing machines, and over 80 acres of green space. The resort generates an estimated $35.5 million in annual tax revenues and employs more than 500 team members.

This role is responsible for the collection and count of games’ cash boxes from the gaming floor and the cash and ticket count conducted in the count room in accordance with company Internal Control Policies and Procedures as well as state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests.
  • Demonstrates #AddLife culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
  • Fosters an environment of support and motivation for team members.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with company policy and state regulations.
  • Performs drop collections from slots and table games in strict adherence to Internal Control Policies and Procedures.
  • Records accurate count of each box in count system/sheet and reconciles amounts with other count team members.
  • Complies with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations.
  • Prepares all necessary paperwork to support and reconcile all money and vouchers collected and counted.
  • Works with count machines and coin rollers in accordance with departmental and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Assists other count team members in moving box carts with a maximum weight of 400 pounds, multiple times per week.
  • Counts and verifies all bundled and loose cash transactions to and from the cashier.
  • Resolves problems within the position’s scope of authority and recommends courses of action for issues beyond scope to the supervisor.
  • Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
  • Attends required training sessions offered by the company.
  • Obtains and retains required license(s).
  • Performs duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensures minors are not allowed to gamble, loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Has knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the department.
  • Has knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gaming.
  • Reports any acts of wrongdoing of which the team member may have knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate required.
  • Experience in a cash handling environment preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and menu-driven programs preferred.
  • Virginia Racing Commission License required.
