Count Room Manager

About the role

Presque Isle Downs & Casino, conveniently located off of I-90 in Erie, PA, features table games, slots, sportsbook, entertainment, live thoroughbred horse racing, and year-round simulcast racing. The casino features the latest technology and amenities designed for guest comfort and expectations. The property features three restaurants, including two award-winning restaurants – Churchill’s Bourbon & Brew and LBV Steakhouse.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the slot drop is completed and the count is accurate each day.
• Ensure the drop and count of table games is accurate and completed each day.
• Oversee the conduct of all Drop/Count Team members and the tasks assigned to the Drop/Count Team.
• Ensure Drop/Count Team members adhere to company policies, procedures, and PGCB regulations.
• Ensure replenishment, service, and drop and count of all gaming voucher redemption units throughout the property.
• Ensure drop and count of lottery machine funds.
• Assist with placement and service on self-bet race machines as needed.
• Ensure drop and count of self-bet race betting machines’ funds.
• Ensure drop and count of all slot machine revenue throughout the property.
• Ensure drop and count of all table games revenue throughout the property.
• Ensure the Drop/Count Team is in compliance with all count and drop state regulations and internal controls.
• Chart attendance, issue corrective actions, and approve weekly schedules and vacations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Responsible for any disciplinary action, reports, and the hiring and firing of Drop/Count Team personnel.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Computer Skills: Intermediate PC skills required. Microsoft Office experience required.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ supervisory or management experience with money handling is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses

• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Work Environment: Moderate noise level. Exposure to smoke on the casino floor and in the cage. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, stressful, and physically demanding environment.
• Physical Demands: Required to stoop, kneel, stand, climb, crouch, or crawl for extended periods. Must lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Must be able to talk and hear for proper communication. Strong vision skills required, including close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
