Counselor - School Age Child Care (Swift Creek Locations)

About the role

The YMCA of Greater Richmond seeks Before & After-School Child Care Counselors for the Swift Creek Region, serving Clover Hill Elementary, Deep Creek Elementary, Moseley Elementary, Spring Run Elementary, and Winterpock Elementary.

Schedule

Weekday shifts: 6:45 am – 9:15 am and/or 3:30 pm – 6:15 pm.

Pay

Salary range: $16.00 – $16.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Create fun, engaging activities that help kids grow and thrive
• Support youth development through structured play, learning, and leadership
• Supervise and inspire a group of school‑age children
• Act as a trusted mentor and a daily highlight in a child’s life

Requirements

• Positive attitude and passion for working with kids
• Reliability, creativity, and energy
• Minimum age 18 with high school diploma or GED
• At least 6 months of relevant experience (enthusiasm valued)
