Counselor - Per Diem
About the role
Substance abuse counselor will assist patients through medically assisted programs and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts group and individual sessions to help with crisis management and coping strategies, evaluates patients’ progress during therapy, and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and therapists for optimal treatment outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
- Involve families and significant others in the patient’s recovery process whenever possible
- Facilitate, establish, and review the initial treatment plan with each patient
- Respond to patient grievances and complaints as needed
- Develop aftercare and discharge plans
- Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor
Requirements
- Certification or license is required: ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LCPC, LCSW, LGADC, or LCADC from the State of Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
Pay
Salary ranges from $44,000 to $80,000 annually. The final salary will be set based on factors such as experience, education, specialty, and training.
