About the role

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor I, working under their certification, provides treatment services to patients in the continuum of behavioral health services across the system. They will have the opportunity to develop their skills and abilities while receiving mentorship and supervision from an experienced counselor.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments
  • Provide therapeutic interventions
  • Deliver direct patient care
  • Ensure clinical records are accurate
  • Collaborate with community treatment providers and internal team members
  • Participate in team meetings

Requirements

Behavioral health experience working with or treating patients with substance use disorders, including internship prior to becoming a CADC or LADC.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma

Licenses/Certifications: CADC or LADC from the respective licensing Board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR)
