About the Role
A Counselor plays a vital role in clients' treatment recovery by providing counseling and supportive services to promote stability and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Conducts counseling sessions in compliance with federal, state, local, and accreditation regulations.
- Maintains detailed documentation including intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and records of client interactions.
- Collaborates with vocational staff to integrate rehabilitation into treatment plans and assists clients with maintaining benefits.
- Links clients to medical and psychiatric providers and supports follow-through on treatment.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and conducts individual and group sessions.
Requirements
- BA in Human Services with at least 2 years of experience.
- Certified as an Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-T or CASAC).
- Knowledge of substance use and methadone treatment, with basic counseling skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
