About the Role

A Counselor plays a vital role in clients' treatment recovery by providing counseling and supportive services to promote stability and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts counseling sessions in compliance with federal, state, local, and accreditation regulations.
  • Maintains detailed documentation including intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and records of client interactions.
  • Collaborates with vocational staff to integrate rehabilitation into treatment plans and assists clients with maintaining benefits.
  • Links clients to medical and psychiatric providers and supports follow-through on treatment.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and conducts individual and group sessions.

Requirements

  • BA in Human Services with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Certified as an Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-T or CASAC).
  • Knowledge of substance use and methadone treatment, with basic counseling skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
