About the role
A person working at this location will be working under very minimal on-site supervision. Must be able to self-direct and should have solid previous experience with SUD and treatment planning.
Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established timeframes.
- Facilitating psycho-educational and process groups as defined by the curriculum.
- Providing individual counseling according to timeframes established per program and documenting each session according to policies and procedures.
- Maintaining clinical records in accordance with contractual and Spectrum standards.
- Serving as a role model/mentor for program participants while maintaining professional boundaries and addressing participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly and in accordance with Spectrum’s clinical design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is required.
- State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is preferred.
- Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.

Pay
$26.44/hr. ($55,000 annually).
Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent certification/license are eligible for $28.85/hr. ($60,000 annually).
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm (3 days per week) and 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm (2 days per week) with a 1-hour unpaid meal break.
