About the role
We are seeking dedicated Counselors (I, II, III) to join our clinical team in Virginia. In this role, you'll guide patients through their recovery journey, providing counseling, support, and treatment planning that creates lasting change.

What You'll Do
- Counsel patients and participate in treatment planning
- Conduct patient assessments and complete intake evaluations
- Facilitate group counseling sessions
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Provide crisis intervention and individual counseling
- Conduct treatment plan reviews and participate in case conferences
- Educate patients on program expectations, rights, and recovery goals
- Coordinate referrals to community resources and support services
- Collect and administer urine/swab drug screens following chain-of-custody procedures
- Attend supervision, team meetings, and required trainings
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations and policies
Qualifications
- Counselor I: Required - Bachelor's degree or higher; or qualifying CSAC credentials; CSAC Supervisee or CSAC Supervisee Pending preferred; Eligible for certification/licensure through the Virginia Board or nationally recognized certifying body; Experience in substance use treatment preferred
- Counselor II: Required - Bachelor's degree or higher; One or more of the following: CSAC Resident in Counseling Resident in Marriage & Family Therapy Supervisee in Clinical Social Work LCSW pathway candidate; Eligible for applicable licensure/certification in Virginia
- Counselor III: Required - Master's degree or higher; Active Virginia licensure such as: LPC LCSW LMFT LSATP; Strong clinical counseling and treatment planning experience
