Responsibilities
- Provides counseling and guidance to patients and family members as a part of total patient care.
- Communicates with people of different backgrounds and abilities.
- Tests and evaluates patients.
- The major focal areas are adjustment to disability, self-worth, motivation, family issues, transitional reactions, sexuality, and social behavior.
- Makes decisions based on patients' needs.
- Evaluates situations as they occur and acts upon the best solution for the good of staff, patients, and self.
- Affords active involvement to patients' families in the family therapy as well as the patients' rehabilitation.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree and appropriate state licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy, Licensed Professional Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field of study is required.
- 2 years of experience in acute care or rehabilitation is preferred.
- Demonstrate a capacity for and interest to absorb a global knowledge of medical and clinical rehabilitation aspects relating to traumatic brain injury.

Schedule
Full-time during the weekdays, Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm with occasional weekend and/or night work.
