Counselor

What You'll Do

• Be responsible for a caseload of clients, as identified by program requirements and in accordance with state regulations.
• Completes required evaluations and assessments.
• Documents all clinical services and interventions performed within the clients ‘electronic record.
• Maintains contact with outside providers to coordinate care.
• Confer with the Clinical Supervisor on a daily basis for casing.
• Participates in weekly treatment team meetings.
• Will be responsible for the Adolescent Program (youth ages 10-17 yrs of age).
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.
• Will be responsible for the RISE Program that serves adolescents from 10 to 17 years of age.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Knowledge of assessment and counseling/therapy principles.
• Considerable knowledge of population being served and available resources.
• Ability to evaluate and screen clients for appropriate treatment and document progress of clients.
• May require crisis intervention to emergency situations.
• Skill in establishing rapport with clients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Requirements

• Minimum associate degree with CADC or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field REQUIRED.
• 1 year experience in the Substance Abuse Field and/or Mental Health REQUIRED.
• 1 year experience working with the adolescent population REQUIRED.
• Within 2 years, must have obtained certification as CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).

Compensation Package

• Salary From $21/hour Commensurate based on experience, education, and certification.
