Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling and prepare, monitor, and review treatment/recovery plans
• Facilitate activities of daily living, community meetings, and engagement within the milieu
• Deliver therapeutic interactions to foster patients’ social, cognitive, and behavioral skill development
• Supervise milieu staff
• Conduct psychosocial interventions to teach coping skills for urges, cravings, impulsive behavior, and cognitive distortions; employ motivational interviewing techniques
• Provide individual, group, family, and multi‑family group counseling
• Plan and facilitate resident interactions to build social, emotional, and behavioral functioning
• Assist in supervising activities that establish a treatment environment
• Prepare and maintain case records
• Assist in the medication room in case of emergency

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification (required)
• Minimum two years of experience in a behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment program (required)
• Training to dispense medications to clients in case of emergency (required)

Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit, use hands to type, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch and lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Pay

Salary range: $27.80 – $30.67 hourly.

Full‑time, non‑exempt position located in Wainscott Residential – East Hampton, NY.
