Counsellor - Mindplace

Permanent role based at Mindplace Newcastle (Metrocentre, Gateshead, NE11 9YG). Full-time and part-time hours available: minimum of 2 days per week, including at least one Saturday.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday: 07:30 or 08:00 to 15:30/16:00, or 14:00 to 22:00
• Weekends: 08:30 to 17:00
• Minimum of 5 appointments per day
• At least 1 in every 3 weekends worked (may vary by location)

About the role

As a Counsellor/Psychotherapist at Bupa, you will provide high-quality, effective, and safe counselling to customers over the short, medium, or longer term. You will work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team, liaising daily with internal and external services, organisations, and safeguarding agencies. Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality counselling or brief interventions with excellent clinical outcomes.
• Deliver comprehensive assessments and formulations to drive evidence-based interventions.
• Offer different models of service delivery, including face-to-face sessions.
• Adhere to Bupa’s case management processes and collaborate with Clinical Leads and the wider therapy team.
• Follow sessional limits based on the client’s company benefits.
• Provide signposting or onward referrals as needed.
• Offer ad-hoc or one-off wellbeing support and coaching.
• Conduct one-off assessments and referral recommendations.
• Deliver group psychoeducation, raise mental health awareness, and promote mental wellbeing through remote presentations, workshops, and training.
• Work autonomously within professional guidelines and Bupa’s service policies and procedures.
• Attend regular clinical supervision and team meetings.
• Collaborate with the operational and clinical team to improve client and employee experiences.

Requirements

• BACP Accredited Counsellors/Psychotherapists, NCPS Professional Accredited Registrants, or UKCP Registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellors/Psychotherapists (accreditation required at time of application).
• 3 years of full-time post-qualification counselling experience.
