About the role
Supervise the Counselors and/or Counselor Interns who provide treatment and case management services to patients in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and with BayMark’s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients.
- Maintain timely documentation of patient services based on plan of care.
- Identify other physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs for assigned patients.
- Travel as necessary.
- Monitor treatment and counseling of all patients.
- Provide clinical supervision.
- Assign counselors' caseloads, amend when necessary.
- Screens potential patients and determines eligibility.
- Facilitate intakes or assist with the intake process.
- Conduct quality assurance file reviews.
- Complete and submit patient death reports, as needed.
- Review and countersign documentation for quality and accuracy for clinical team when applicable.
- Ensure accurate and current clinical records are maintained in accordance with Federal and State Regulations.
- Manage all counseling staff.
- Facilitate performance improvement discussions, documentation and follow up.
- Assist in new hire training.
- Participate in staff and multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Support organizational and departmental philosophies, goals, and objectives and through behavioral modeling will motivate others to do so.
- May be required to counsel a caseload of patients.
- Participate in supervisor meetings, as requested.
- Assist in monitoring employee attendance.
- Provide guidance and support to counselors needing to obtain licensure and / or certification.
- Oversee counselor related annual trainings and ensure trainings are completed.
- Facilitate employee performance discussions and evaluations.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others.
Qualifications
- Must hold an LCSW, LISW-S, or ALPS in the state of West Virginia.
- Demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward our patient population.
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
