Responsibilities

• Reviews, prepares and negotiates legal and transactional documents, and related internal governance approvals, for prospective reinsurance transactions.
• Provides transactional reinsurance related legal support and advice to business units and executive management on legal and regulatory issues impacting the Company's operations and business.
• Supports affiliates on U.S. and international reinsurance transactions, and advises on U.S. regulatory and legal issues.
• Researches and provides legal advice on legal and regulatory issues.
• Maintains awareness of new federal and state legislation and regulations that affect AZRA, affiliates, and the reinsurance industry.
• Advises the business on various matters, including interpretation and application of terms of agreements, corporate rules, and policies and corporate organization documents.
• Utilizes artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g., generative AI).

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school
• California State Bar license in good standing & required
• 3-5 years of legal experience at a major law firm, specializing in reinsurance and/or financial transactions, with experience in corporate governance and insurance regulation preferred
