For our client, we are seeking a Counsel - Data Protection, Privacy & Cyber Security to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will serve as a key legal advisor on privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and related compliance matters across the organization. You will partner closely with business, compliance, and operational stakeholders to help shape practical solutions that support secure, compliant products and services. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to AML-related legal work and broader regulatory interpretation in a highly regulated environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $144,200 – $209,150 annually Responsibilities Research and provide legal guidance on privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity regulations Advise on compliance requirements affecting the company’s products and services Support the maintenance of privacy policies and compliance frameworks Assist with legal matters related to personal data protection and cybersecurity incidents Research AML regulations and support compliance teams on legal interpretations Develop and review AML compliance policies and frameworks Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify legal issues and craft practical solutions Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a state bar 3+ years of relevant legal experience, possibly in a law firm, corporate legal department, or government agency Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills Interest in developing knowledge in privacy, data protection, AML, and financial services regulation Ability to communicate complex legal information to both legal and non-legal audiences Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Collaborative approach and eagerness to work across various functions Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) plan with generous matching contributions and financial advisory services Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 annually Casual dress environment with flexibility to wear jeans Generous paid time off plus holidays, including floating holidays Paid volunteer time of 16 hours annually Leave of absence programs, including paid parental leave Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
