About the role

This role serves as a legal lead for commercial matters, supporting Scopely’s business teams and initiatives, and various games in Scopely’s portfolio. The role requires a strong focus on complex commercial transactions, proven ability to operate independently, and hands-on experience using AI tools, automation, or legal technology in legal workflows.

Responsibilities

• Commercial Contracting & Advisory
  Serve as the lead attorney for a broad range of commercial matters supporting Scopely’s business teams and initiatives, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a wide variety of agreements.

• Technology, AI & Automation
  Actively leverage legal technology, AI tools, and automation to improve contract review, drafting, issue-spotting, and turnaround time.

• Cross-Functional Legal Collaboration
  Work closely with colleagues across Legal, including Privacy, Product, Employment, and Corporate, to ensure alignment on risk, strategy, and execution.

Requirements

• 4-6+ years of legal experience, with a strong focus on complex commercial transactions.

• Law degree from an accredited institution and qualification to practice law in California.

• Proven ability to operate independently as a senior legal advisor, owning matters end-to-end with minimal oversight.

• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to translate legal concepts into practical business guidance.

• Experience working closely with marketing, product, sales, and procurement teams in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in AdTech, Privacy, technology, gaming, digital media, or SaaS-driven businesses preferred.

• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders and influence outcomes.

• Comfort working in a global organization across time zones and cultures.

Pay

Annual salary range: $145,000—$165,000 USD
