About the Role

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) implements occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OTR. These services include structured assessments, treatment, and documentation according to age-appropriate needs. In addition to direct patient intervention, the COTA educates patients, families, caregivers, and staff regarding the patient’s functional level. The COTA may also participate in student education and other related duties as required or assigned by the supervisor.

Equipment used may include, but is not limited to: computer, paraffin bath, fluidotherapy, ultrasound, e-stim, splinting pan, heat gun, whirlpool, treatment tasks, and pulleys.

Requirements

• Active BLS Certification
• National Certification by the NBCOT
• Colorado Licensure (required as of June 1, 2014)
• Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited COTA program
• New graduates accepted
• Able to perform all structured treatments and documentation required in this position
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
