Essential Job Functions
- Affords assistance in planning, organizing, and conducting occupational therapy programs under the direct guidance of a registered Occupational Therapist.
- Treats and/or assists in treatment, advisement, and education of patients and families as appropriate to specific physical, mental, and/or developmental disabilities.
- Maintains patient progress throughout treatment; prepares and maintains records and reports as appropriate, ensuring adherence to procedural safeguards and confidentiality requirements.
- Maintains confidentiality of resident and facility records/information.
- Protects residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Organized and detailed in work performance
- Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience
- Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
