Essential Job Functions

• Affords assistance in planning, organizing, and conducting occupational therapy programs under the direct guidance of a registered Occupational Therapist.
• Treats and/or assists in treatment, advisement, and education of patients and families as appropriate to specific physical, mental, and/or developmental disabilities.
• Maintains patient progress throughout treatment; prepares and maintains records and reports as appropriate, ensuring adherence to procedural safeguards and confidentiality requirements.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident and facility records/information.
• Protects residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy
• Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Organized and detailed in work performance
• Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience
• Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
