Cost Specialist / Cost Engineer - Oil & Gas Pipeline

About the role
Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced and analytical Cost Specialist / Cost Engineer to join our Oil & Gas Pipeline client. This role will be responsible for the preparation and support of regular operational cost reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. The individual will collaborate with the wider business to aggregate financial information, assist in documentation, review, and communication. Work may be required in-office (downtown Chicago, IL).
Responsibilities
- Track financial performance against budgets and forecast
- Manage and update monthly forecasts and provide variation reports
- Reconcile actuals vs. forecast
- Review and track project and portfolio financial performance
- Analyze and issue project reports such as VOWD, cash flow analysis, PO headroom, and vendor invoice management
- Reconcile invoices in SAP
- Adhere to Sox control responsibilities where applicable
Requirements
- Proficiency in analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in cost and financial reporting
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in SAP and ECOSYS is required
- Experience utilizing data visualization tools like Power BI is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 5-10 years of post-grad experience in financial analysis and reporting, or related role
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to various stakeholders
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Pay
The salary range for this full-time role is $90K–$110K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent base salary only. Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
