Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis to identify potential delays before they happen.
  • Monitor project expenditures against budgets. Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and "Estimate at Completion" (EAC) reports to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Evaluate the cost and schedule impact of change orders. Work closely with Project Managers to negotiate fair pricing and time extensions with contractors.
  • Generate clear, concise visual reports for executive leadership, detailing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like Schedule Variance (SV) and Cost Variance (CV).
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to measure project performance and progress objectively.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5 years of direct experience in project controls, cost engineering, or construction scheduling.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Primavera P6 (required). Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data visualization). Familiarity with Project Management software (e.g., e-Builder, Procore).
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate complex data sets into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on K-12 educational facilities or public works projects.
  • Knowledge of California Division of the State Architect (DSA) requirements.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP).
