About the role
Tutor Perini Building Corp. is seeking a Cost Engineer to join their project in Pocola, OK.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of spreadsheets and a wide variety of routine cost analysis, cash flow, and other cost related evaluations.
- Conduct studies to develop effective cost reduction processes and procedures.
- Cooky coordination all cost related issues with project managers, construction managers, designers, subcontractors, vendors, and contractors.
- Maintain cost control procedures and prepare project cost, commitment and cash flow reports.
- Analyze and participate in the negotiation of change order requests and invoices.
- Collaborate with Accounting and within existing financial management system to effectively develop, establish, and maintain systems for project accounting, cost management, procurement, and expediting.
- Manage the project cost, change management progress reporting using established project costs and procedures.
- Support the general flow of documentation regarding the processing of bulletins, change order and requests for information including compiling information for monthly reporting.
- Understand the cost report including different contracts types, general conditions, and fee analysis and prepare internal monthly financial reports (CR-1s) for review with management.
- Coordinate, manage, and assist in the preparation and review of monthly application for payment (Owner and Subcontractors).
- Represent the company at all times with professionalism and a commitment to quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or construction management discipline preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Provide support to project management efforts in monitoring updated and verifying the accuracy of committed costs in the pre-construction and construction phases.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of procurement, construction terminology, construction concepts and relationships, and industry standard documentation (i.e. bulletins, addenda, PCO, COR, CO, etc.).
- Excellent oral & written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of project’s scope of work for the project.
- Capacity to work in a team setting with minimal supervision and direction.
- Able to maintain tight deadlines while demonstrating attention to details and accuracy.
- Proficiency in budget preparation, cash flow analysis, and other financial reporting.
- Ability to multi-task in an ever-changing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Access.
- Advanced knowledge of Prolog, and JD Edwards (or similar cost management software).
