Essential Functions and Activities
- Initiate, analyze and drive Design-to-Cost trackers for NPD projects.
- Perform should-cost modelling for fabricated components.
- Make similar-to estimates for new component designs based on library of existing components.
- Perform labor-time studies and establish standard times for new installations.
- Support Procurement in analysis and review of supplier cost breakdowns to drive cost reduction opportunities through negotiations with suppliers.
- Support competitive vehicle benchmarking to provide input for future model development and target costs.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience interpreting engineering drawings into should-cost modelling tools.
- Demonstrated systems experience: Excel, JD Edwards (or equivalent), CAD, PDM.
- Practical knowledge of Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) techniques and strong financial awareness.
- Minimum associate’s degree in engineering or supply chain with background in manufacturing, Bachelors preferred.
