Cost Accounting Manager - (Auburndale, FL)

About the role

A results-driven Cost Accountant with experience in CPG manufacturing, specializing in analyzing production costs, optimizing inventory valuation, and supporting data-driven decision-making. Skilled in standard costing, variance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and supply chain teams to improve efficiency and profitability. Adept at managing cost controls, budgeting, and financial reporting in fast-paced environments, with a strong focus on identifying cost-saving opportunities and enhancing overall financial performance.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Supports the inventory management and close process
• Ensures inventory counts are logged, approved and posted appropriately
• Reconciles inventory variances and manages write-offs and reserves
• Runs inventory valuation reports to ensure the GL ties to the inventory ledger and reconciles variances
• Manages and posts cost allocations
• Supports the inventory management and close process
• Supports with monthly close variance analysis (labor, overhead, material)
• Ensures that recurring errors or issues are addressed and corrected
• Sets up new items and ensures costing is set up appropriately
• Maintains high level of organization, time management and project management skills, commitment to follow through, enthusiasm, and motivation

Education/Experience

• Required: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting roles or related, experience with standard costing, experience with ERP systems and accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP), proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling
• PREFERRED: Masters in accounting or finance, CPA License or equivalent certifications, knowledge within the CPG industry
