Cost Accountant

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting functions of the operations organization.
• Develop and analyze cost standards for manufactured goods and inputs.
• Complete month-end close process and prepare general ledger account analysis.
• Prepare and maintain various account roll forwards.
• Assist in operations-related analysis, including production KPIs, COGS analysis, margin analysis, ROI calculations, and capacity utilization.
• Post all relevant accounting journal entries.
• Create, analyze, and post various month-end accruals.
• Identify and implement process improvements in the month-end close, including accelerating the close timeline while maintaining accuracy.
• Perform and assist with account reconciliations and analysis.
• Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Assist with preparation of audit reports and inquiries.
• Serve as liaison between Operations and Accounting for existing fixed asset transactions.
• Assist with preparation of company plant capex reporting requirements.
• Complete special projects assigned to support finance and operations organizations.
• Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
• Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes.

Requirements

• High level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Oracle experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and prioritize independently.
• Self-motivated with a focus on process improvements.
• Keen customer service mentality.
• Outstanding communication skills, with a focus on accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with customer service and client communication.
