About the role
We are seeking a Cost Accountant to strengthen inventory costing, pricing strategy, and operational financial insight across our organization and subsidiaries.
Responsibilities
- Drive Cost & Inventory Insights
- Perform detailed inventory reconciliations, including slow-moving inventory, in-transit stock, and returns
- Analyze production costs, cost variances, and margin trends to support pricing and product strategies
- Evaluate and refine inventory valuation methodologies across entities and operational teams
- Support pricing initiatives through detailed cost modeling and contribution margin analysis
- Strengthen Financial Processes & Controls
- Manage cost implications of chargebacks and distributor agreement income recognition
- Review transactional details and prepare or approve adjusting entries as needed
- Lead and monitor 340B inventory process compliance and reporting
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and recommend improvements
- Partner Across the Organization
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and finance teams during budget planning, monthly reporting, and variance analysis
- Recommend cost control and efficiency improvements through financial and operational data analysis
- Support ERP system enhancements related to costing and inventory management
- Develop ad hoc dashboards and reports that support executive decision-making
- Provide guidance to staff and serve as a cross-functional liaison
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of accounting experience with a focus in cost accounting, inventory, or operational finance
- Strong knowledge of inventory systems, standard costing, and production/manufacturing accounting principles
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (Power BI or other reporting tools are a plus)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls related to inventory and costing
- Strong communication skills and comfort translating financial data for non-financial partners
- A proactive, improvement-focused mindset
Preferred:
