Cost Accountant

About the role

Seneca Foods Corporation has a career opportunity available at our Glencoe facility for an entry level Cost Accountant. We are looking for a qualified individual to demonstrate their ability to learn and grow with our Glencoe processing facility.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable & Receiving
• Operational Tracking & Reporting
• Preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Development and maintenance of standard costs
• Assist in the quarterly forecasting and bi-annual budgeting processes
• AG & Grower Accounting
• Assist Plant Controller on:
  • Costing and Analysis Projects
  • Raw Product Scale Support
  • Payroll On-Boarding of Seasonal Staff

Qualifications

• Prior work experience is not required but preferred in Accounting or Inventory
• Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field desired
• Demonstrated general knowledge of financial accounting procedures is required
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word skills
• Must possess exceptional thoughtful and analytical skills, diligent with high attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, well organized
• Agile and open to change
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently, effectively handle multiple competing priorities and manage deadlines under pressure
• Resourceful
• Strong project and time management skills
• Proven ability to develop strong partnerships and influence at all levels of the organization
• Must be collegial, with high integrity, and a team player
• Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions…a problem solver

Pay

Starting wage range based on skills, abilities and experience from $65K to $72K
