Cost Accountant

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate records and documentation for inventory costing.
• Compile product costs, including direct labor, direct materials, and overhead.
• Lead planning, reporting, and analysis of standard product costing.
• Update standards when necessary and identify potential impacts.
• Drive continuous financial improvement and introduce process control as needed.
• Work closely and collaboratively across multi-department teams to provide cost accounting support and resolve cost and inventory issues.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Conduct account reconciliations and analysis, particularly focusing on inventory reconciliation and cost of goods sold.
• Investigate and report reasons behind significant variances, including review of PPV, revaluation, repairs, and scrap.
• Utilize ERP system to effectively manage and analyze data.

Skills/Abilities

• Advanced literacy with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of fully integrated ERP system, preferred JDE.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Have large ERP experience, preferred JDE.
• Have at least 5+ years of cost accounting experience.
