Responsibilities
- Analyze production, material, and labor expenses to determine accurate product costs and identify meaningful cost trends.
- Maintain and review standard costing records, ensuring updates reflect current manufacturing operations and pricing conditions.
- Prepare regular cost reports and variance analyses to help leadership understand differences between expected and actual performance.
- Partner with plant and finance teams to evaluate inventory valuation, cost controls, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting, inventory, and financial reporting.
- Review bills of materials and routing data to improve cost accuracy and strengthen reporting integrity.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance cost visibility, financial controls, and operational planning.
- Auxiliary with cost-related data updates or process changes within financial systems when required.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting principles, including inventory and production cost analysis.
- Hands-on experience with standard costing methods and variance reporting.
- Ability to interpret financial data and provide clear cost analysis for business decision-making.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reporting and analysis.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across accounting and operations teams.
