About the role
The Cost Accountant will support cost accounting, inventory reconciliation, and month-end reporting across Imperial's manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Support cost accounting and inventory reconciliation processes across Imperial’s plant operations
- Reconcile inventory activity between Deposco and NetSuite, with a strong focus on inventory accuracy
- Aid with inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
- Support month-end close activities, including cost accounting reports, inventory reporting, and account reconciliations
- Help maintain standard costing processes, including labor rates and other cost inputs
- Research and resolve inventory discrepancies by working with finance, inventory, warehouse, and production teams
- Prepare reporting related to inventory, cost activity, and manufacturing accounting
- Support internal and external audit requests related to inventory, reconciliations, and cost accounting
- Partner with manufacturing operations as needed to understand inventory movement and production activity
- Follow established accounting processes, controls, and reporting standards
Requirements
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing accounting
- Strong reconciliation skills with the ability to research discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records
- Experience supporting month-end close, reporting, inventory valuation, cycle counts, or audit requests
- ERP experience required; NetSuite experience preferred
- Deposco experience is a plus
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial and inventory data
- Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, operations, inventory, and production teams
- Self-starter who is eager to grow and develop, while also being able to follow established processes and controls
- Comfortable working with auditors and providing accurate supporting documentation
