Cost Accountant

About the role
This is a full-time, hybrid role located in Grand Rapids, MI, reporting to our Cost Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and review standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
- Assist in annual cost roll in Oracle and SAP as well as support Interco costing and reconciliation.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, investigate and explain variances and adjustments.
- Monitor and value inventory levels; participate in quarterly E&O calculation, analysis, and reporting.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including investigating and correcting accounting entries as well as performing account reconciliations.
- Support the budget and financial forecast processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering on new product costing, Procurement for setting up new material costs and analyzing market variances, and Operations for monitoring and analyzing production costs.
- Perform ad-hoc cost projects and analyses; provide support to other departments.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in manufacturing cost accounting.
- Familiarity with Oracle and SAP ERP (strongly preferred).
- Strong background in accounting, an analytical mindset, and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Current authorization for employment in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future (required).
