Cost Accountant

About the role

The Cost Accountant position at Dover Food Retail (DFR) supports accounting functions, focusing on cost accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting. Key responsibilities include tracking capital expenditures, analyzing financial results, supporting AR and AP accounting, investigating and resolving accounting issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing monthly reconciliations, and preparing ad hoc reports.

Responsibilities

• Aid in maintaining the company's standard costing system.
• Track and report on capital expenditures.
• Assist in the analysis and validation of financial results.
• Support AR and AP accounting functions as needed.
• Investigate and resolve accounting issues when they arise.
• Collaborate and engage with other cross-functional teams.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy in reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 2 years of general ledger accounting or public accounting audit experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle experience preferred.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing environment preferred.
