The role partners closely with plant and operations leadership across multiple manufacturing locations to ensure accurate product costing, strong cost controls, and meaningful financial insight. The Cost Accountant will own and maintain the integrity of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and standard costing structures, support inventory and manufacturing variance analysis, and help drive consistency and scalability in cost accounting processes across the business. As experience is gained, this role will contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and stronger financial governance. Job Location This role will be based out of the Atlanta, Georgia office. Periodic travel to manufacturing sites may be required. Job Responsibilities Own product costing and BOM integrity, including materials, labor, and overhead; partner with operations and engineering to evaluate cost impacts of design and process changes.Maintain and monitor moving average cost methodology to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods soldEstablish and maintain standard labor and overhead rates in collaboration with plant leadership.Analyze manufacturing variances and proactively identify root causes, trends, and improvement opportunities.Support inventory management and internal controls, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory valuation.Partner with plant accounting and operations team to ensure cost-related transactions are accurate, timely, and properly supported.Participate in monthly/quarterly/annual close processes ensuring accurate, timely cost and profitability reporting.Prepare and analyze cost and profitability reporting, including ad-hoc analyses as needed.Drive continuous improvement in cost accounting processes, controls, and data standardization to support a growing, multi-site manufacturing environment. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.3+ years of relevant cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience.Strong experience with standard costing, BOMs, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variances.Experience supporting multiple plants or locations in a manufacturing environment preferred.Experience with complex ERP systems required; SAP experience strongly preferred.Advanced Excel skills required; experience with SQL, MS Query, or VBA is a plus.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a focus on data integrity.Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across finance and operations.
