Cost Accountant

About the role

The primary responsibility of the Cost Accountant is to manage financial records, analyze costs, and provide insights to support decision-making processes within the company.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Oversee the budgeting process and monitor expenditures against budgets.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize operations.
• Perform variance analysis to assess performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
• Knowledge of SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems is a plus.

Skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.

Pay

$70,000 - $80,000 annually.
