Responsibilities
- Drive accurate product costing by maintaining and updating standard costs for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
- Analyze manufacturing variances related to yield, labor, overhead, materials usage, and dairy component tracking to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Deliver bi-weekly and monthly production cost analysis that supports operational and financial decision-making.
- Partner with Production, Quality, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance teams to improve profitability, reduce waste, and optimize plant performance.
- Support inventory valuation, reconciliations, and compliance with FIFO, lot tracking, and dairy industry requirements.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, inventory analysis, and financial reporting related to cost of goods sold and manufacturing operations.
- Strengthen financial controls and support audits, month-end close activities, capital project analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing; dairy or food & beverage industry experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation, BOMs, routings, and manufacturing cost accounting principles.
- Experience analyzing production variances, yield performance, overhead allocation, and inventory reconciliations.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional partnership skills.
- Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit support requirements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced plant environment and manage competing priorities.
- Flexibility to support month-end and year-end close activities when needed.
